Bandai Namco Pictures declared on Tuesday that it is delivering another unique undertaking named Shinsengumi Kitchen Diary (Shinsengumi Chūbō Roku), with an arranged web novel, manga, and anime.
The undertaking’s topics are “gourmet,” “time travel,” and “shinsengumi.” The manga fixates on Izumi Inaba, a secondary school young lady who has cooking aptitudes equaling experts. A strange occurrence drives her to unintentionally make a trip back so as to Japan’s Bakumatsu period in the nineteenth century. There, she meets Hijikata Toshizō, a renowned administrator of the shogunate’s shinsengumi police, and her top class cooking abilities intrigue Hijikata enough for him to accept Izumi into the shinsengumi.
SOW, the writer of The Combat Baker and Automaton Waitress light books, is composing the web novel, which started serializing on Tuesday. Masatsugu Saitō, the character architect of the Expelled from Paradise and Cyborg 009 Call of Justice films, is planning the characters.
Craftsman Kyoko Kumagai (Hatsumei Princess, Ayakashi Hisen) is dispatching the manga in Kadokawa’s Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine on February 26.
