During Evo Japan 2020, two more characters have been confirmed for Samurai Shodown’s Season Pass 2. Iroha and Sogetsu Kazam will be joining the cast of the popular fighting game.
Although three of the four characters have now been revealed, their release dates have yet to be announced.
Mina Majikina was announced way back in August 2019. The silver-haired beauty is an exorcist who was sent away from her home at an early age for training. Though her hometown considered her as a kaminchu (a shrine maiden in Ryukyu dialect), they also feared her because of her strong spiritual powers. As a result of her isolation, Mina lacks the ability to express emotion.
The stoic and reserved Sogetsu Kazama is a ninja of the Kazama Clan. He is Kazuki’s brother and can control water while utilizing his ninjutsu techniques.
The maid fighter, Iroha, was first introduced in Samurai Shodown VI. She’s very popular in Japan and has her own mobile game titlted Maid by Iroha. Another game was originally planned to feature her on the Nintendo DS, but was ultimately cancelled. Iroha was also added as playable characters in the Queen’s Blade series, which is an extension of the fantasy game series, Lost Worlds. Iroha is so popular that she also has several different figurines and hard cast done with her character.
The fourth character has yet to be unveiled but during an interview, Game Director Nobuyuki Kuroki said that he would, “prefer Sieger.”
Samurai Shodown is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. On February 25, 2020, the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch outside of Japan.
